What's An AVM?
An AVM (Automated Valuation Model) is a computer-generated algorithm that uses historic, public sales data and trends to estimate a home’s value. AVM estimates are very often inaccurate because they cannot take into account local market conditions, competitive properties for sale, and the condition of the home as well as it’s proximity to schools, parks, and shopping. Since these factors play a significant role in determining the listing price of a home, an AVM is only a quick estimate of a home’s worth. It is not the same as the opinion of a sales agent so it should not be used as a recommended price.
Instructions to use the Price My Home tool:
- Enter your property information directly on the gallery image or from the Price My Home page under the Services tab.
- Your results are generated directly from Zillow and Eppraisal.com.
- If you're not satisfied with the estimates given (which typically happens with AVM), select "Help Me Sell My Home".
- Provide your contact information in the pop-up and we will match you with one of our expert Associates who has the knowledge and understanding to direct you through the home selling or home buying process.
Determining what your home is worth is an intricate process that takes experience and expertise – something a computer tool simply cannot provide.
